A minimal 2D puzzle game in which players place, stack and merge different-shaped pieces to deflect particles.
The idea for Deflect first came about in 2013. Working under the title "My Mind" and later "Mind Merge", the game was to feature a story to accompany the puzzle gameplay. The first working version of the game was released in 2014 as part of an indie game jam. In 2015 the game was temporarily shelved, as life events took priority, but soon picked back up in late-2015 where the game began to quickly take shape. Many months were spent on public alphas, where users provided helpful feedback to help shape the game. On the 6th October 2016 the game left its working title and became "Deflect". The planned story was dropped, after receiving feedback, and the overall design of the game's interface was simplified in order to make it more accessible to non-English speaking users.
